California Friendly Landscape Class

With drought regulations extended until October, now is a good time to rethink how you use outdoor water. On Thursday, April 21, the City is hosting a free class for residents to learn how to transform their landscaping into a California friendly garden.

Attendees will learn how to:

  1. Use a holistic approach to gardening;
  2. Build a living soil sponge;
  3. Rethink elements of their site;
  4. Pick the right plant for the right place;
  5. Use rainwater as a resource; and
  6. Manage their irrigation system.

The class is offered by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and hosted by the City of Newport Beach Public Works Department. If you are interested in attending the class, please RSVP online or call 949-644-3195.
