MacArthur Boulevard Pavement Rehabilitation
Grinding and Overlay Phase Begins February 13
The pavement grinding and overlay operations for the MacArthur Boulevard Pavement Rehabilitation project begins on Monday, February 13 between Bonita Canyon Road and San Joaquin Hills Road. Weather permitting, pavement operations will continue for a few weeks. Construction hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to minimize the impacts of traffic delays during peak hours. During working hours, one traffic lane will remain open in each direction on MacArthur Boulevard. Alternate routes are highly recommended.

Milling Machine - The grinding operation uses an asphalt milling machine to grind the top layer of existing pavement, leaving it level and clean enough for structural repairs to be made, if needed. After grinding, the rough surface provides for bonding for the new asphalt overlay.
