District 6 - Scott Peotter (2018)
Council Member Scott Peotter was elected to the Newport Beach City Council in November 2014. Previously Scott served on the Newport Planning Commission from 2006-2010.
Scott is a licensed architect with over 35 years’ experience in the construction and real estate profession. He received a BS in Architecture from the University of Illinois, moved to Orange County and started his architecture career. In 1992 he started his own real estate consulting firm.
Scott and his wife Linda met at Mariners Church in Newport Beach; they have been married 34 years. They have three grown children; two graduated from Corona del Mar High School, where both excelled in water polo and swimming. Their oldest was married last year. Their son and his wife had their first child (and Scott and Linda’s first grandchild) in July. Their youngest recently graduated with her Masters in Sports Management, where she had a water polo scholarship.
Scott and Linda are both committed to their church, where Scott is a lay leader in the Men’s Ministry. And in past years, Scott was also a scoutmaster for Brian’s Boy Scout troop, where Brian followed in Scott’s footsteps as an Eagle Scout.
