The Cultural Arts Division of the Newport Beach Public Library, with guidance and support by the Newport Beach City Arts Commission, brings cultural and arts programming to the community.

Cultural activities are ongoing throughout the year and include the coordination of revolving art and cultural exhibitions at Central Library, the Civic Center and at civic buildings; as well as the annual Newport Beach Art Exhibition which takes place each spring.  The City's Cultural Arts Division coordinates the Arts Commission’s Concerts on the Green series and Shakespeare by the Sea festivals in the summer.

Each year the City Arts Commission awards Cultural Arts Grants to local and regional arts organizations for creative learning activities and performances in schools, Oasis Senior Center, Newport Beach libraries and in public parks throughout the City.  Cultural Arts also requests and receives grants for cultural programming in the City of Newport Beach.

Since 2009 the Cultural Arts office has coordinated docent-led exhibition tours to some of the most interesting museums in Los Angeles and environs, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Norton Simon Museum, Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens, the Autry, California Science Center and the Getty.
