Earthday 2018Earth Day at the Bay - Sunday, April 22 10 am - 3 pm

Celebrate the earth at the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve! Enjoy booths that feature family friendly activities including arts and craft, science discovery, and educational information.  There will be a scavenger hunt with small prizes for all participants and entry in larger prize drawings. The day will be filled with live music.

Fun fact!  The first Earth Day on April 22, 1970 activated 20 million Americans all sharing their concerns about each citizen's critical role in the environment. Their actions led to the creation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts. Now over one billion people in 192 countries participate in Earth Day activities, making it the largest civic observance in the world.

Second Thursday Habitat Restoration- Big Canyon, Volunteers Needed

Please join the New Irvine Ranch Conservancy to help restore habitat in Big Canyon! Participants will engage in a range of activities from collecting and sowing seed, planting native plant, and removing invasive weeds. Participants will enjoy a good workout while helping improve their native habitat community! Training, tools, gloves, and chaps will be provided to ensure your safety. Enjoy this activity on the 2nd Thursday of each month.

Participants will engage in a range of activities from collecting and sowing seed, planting native plants, and removing weeds. Participants will also enjoy approved off-trail access and a healthy workout all while helping improve their native habitat community! Training, tools, gloves, and chaps will be provided to ensure your safety. Enjoy this activity on the first Friday of each month.
