The Municipal Operations Department is responsible for:
- Administration: Oversight of the department’s budget, capital projects, reports, and customer service
- Equipment Maintenance: Purchase, service, and repair of city vehicles and equipment
- Field Maintenance: Repair and safety of street (asphalt, alleyways, street signs), and concrete (sidewalks, curbs and gutters)
- Oil and Gas: Maintenance of 16 city-owned oil and gas producing wells
- Operations Support: Beach maintenance, facilities maintenance, graffiti abatement, storm drains, and street sweeping
- Parks and Trees: Park and facility landscape maintenance, tree maintenance and planting details
- Streetlights: Service and repair of streetlights
- Trash and Recycling: Refuse collection, residential recycling, hazardous waste disposal information, and management of the approved franchised haulers program
- Wastewater: Maintenance and operation of the City's wastewater system
- Water Customer Service: Start or Stop water service, water rates, water pressure and quality concerns, and construction water meters
- Water Maintenance & Repair: Maintenance and operation of water mains and valves
- Water Quality: Annual Water Quality Report, flouridation information
- Water Production: Operation and maintenance of the City's water supply
