The Newport Beach City Arts Commission invites Orange County artists, 18 years of age or older, to submit one original work of art to be displayed and judged at the 2011 Newport Beach Art Exhibition and Sale to be held Saturday, April 9 at the Central Library.
Artists must pre-register by submitting an entry form, along with a $15 entry fee, to the Cultural Arts office at the Central Library, 1000 Avocado Avenue, Newport Beach, CA 92660. Artists will be required to bring their work, along with their own easel or pedestal, to the Central Library Friends Meeting Room on Saturday morning between 10 and 11 a.m. and pick up their materials at the end of the evening.
On Saturday afternoon the Exhibition and Sale will be open to the public from 1-6 p.m. Guests will be able to view the artwork, meet the artists and purchase the original artwork on display. A portion of the proceeds from the art sale will fund Newport Beach community arts programs.
The event will include an awards presentation and reception at 4:30 p.m. City Council Members and Arts Commissioners will present first, second, third and honorable mention awards, ranging in value from $100 - $500 at the reception.
