Posted Date: 3/29/2011

Tickets are still available for the fourth annual Gift of Literacy Author Luncheon on Friday, April 8 at 11:30 a.m. at the Radisson Hotel, 4545 MacArthur Blvd., Newport Beach.

This event will feature Nicole Mones, author of “Lost in Translation” and “Cup of Light.” She will be talking about her book “The Last Chinese Chef.” A stand out in both the literary as well as food circles, "The Last Chinese Chef" was the winner of the World Gourmand Award and the first work of fiction ever excerpted by Gourmet Magazine.

Tickets for the luncheon can be purchased by calling Literacy Services at the Newport Beach Public Library, 949-717-3874. Tickets are $75 per person or $100 for a seat at the Author’s Table. Books will be available for purchase and author signing.

Proceeds from the event will help fund the Newport Beach Public Library Literacy Services (Newport/Mesa ProLiteracy) program which serves over 100 adult learners annually with free literacy instruction, including one-on-one tutoring, writing workshops, conversation classes and other programs designed to develop the literacy skills of adults and empower them to achieve greater success in their lives – at home, at work, and in the community.
