Mayor’s Walk in CdM this Saturday Morning
Rise & shine and join Newport Beach Mayor Nancy Gardner on a morning walk through Corona del Mar this Saturday, May 12. Walkers will leave the OASIS Senior Center at 9 a.m. (sharp) so participants should plan to arrive early.
Community members are welcome to walk and talk with the Mayor about their ideas for Newport Beach and will also learn about a few City projects. Participants can take part in the full, 2.75-mile walk or can join in along the route.
The walk will begin and end at the OASIS Senior Center, 801 Narcissus Avenue, Corona del Mar. The route will include stops at the Buck Gully / Fifth Ave. erosion control project, Little Corona erosion control project, Big Corona, and the Goldenrod Footbridge. Buck Gully Trail Dedication May 30
Newport Beach will soon have another trail for walkers and hikers to enjoy. On Wednesday, May 30 at 12 p.m., the City will host the Buck Gully Trail dedication. The ceremony will take place at the trail head located near the intersection of Poppy & 5th St., Corona del Mar, 92625. After the ceremony, refreshments will be served and attendees can join in a docent-led hike. Please RSVP to 949-644-3158 or tcraig@newportbeachca.gov. The trail project is a cooperative effort between the City of Newport Beach, the State of California and the Irvine Ranch Conservancy.

Balboa Island Artwalk – Sunday, May 20
The Balboa Island Artwalk will take place on Sunday, May 20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. along the South Bayfront Promenade of Balboa Island. Admission is free. This year's event will feature over 90 artists exhibiting original oil paintings, acrylics, watercolors, glass, ceramic, sculpture, jewelry and photography. www.balboaislandartwalk.info
