The City of Newport Beach is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from development firms interested in participating in the redevelopment of the current Newport Beach City Hall site located at 3300 Newport Boulevard. The approximate 4-acre site is considered by the City Council and community as significant gateway to Newport Beach, and its redevelopment will serve as a catalyst for improvements in the surrounding Lido Village area.
Two potential development scenarios are being considered and are described in detail in the attached Request for Qualifications (RFQ). Through the Statements of Qualifications received in response to the RFQ, the City expects to gauge the interest and capability of firms interested in each of the two scenarios. Under either development scenario, the City will be seeking a development partner, and ultimately a development project, that reflects the community’s very high standards for quality, aesthetics, and amenities.
Complete responses to the RFQ are due by Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon). A non-mandatory Pre-Submittal Bidders’ Conference for addressing questions was held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located at 3300 Newport Boulevard. In addition, written questions may be submitted during the process to the City’s RFQ Administrator. All questions and answers, and any updates to the RFQ or process will be posted on the City’s bidding website.
The RFQ provides detailed technical and administrative information related to the site, land use statistics associated with the desired development scenarios, and the complete instructions for submitting a Statement of Qualifications. The RFQ can be found on the City’s website by clicking here. If you have any questions about the RFQ, please contact Anthony Nguyen, Purchasing Agent at (949) 644-3080 or anguyen@newportbeachca.gov.
