City of Newport Beach News Splash

The City of Newport Beach invites all interested persons to attend public workshops regarding the preparation of an update of the Housing Element. The Newport Beach Housing Element is a comprehensive statement of the City’s housing policies and serves as a guide for implementation of these policies. The Housing Element Update examines current housing needs, estimates future housing needs, and establishes goals, policies, and programs pertaining to those needs for the 2014-2021 planning period.

During the first workshop, the City intends to receive input from members of the community and other housing stakeholders regarding the City’s needs, constraints, and goals related to housing. A future workshop will be held to present a draft of the revised Housing Element Update, findings, and revised policies for public review and discussion.

The last Housing Element Update was adopted in November 2011 and can be found on the City website at http://www.newportbeachca.gov/housingelement or at the Planning Division, Building C, at City Hall 3300 Newport Boulevard, Newport Beach, CA 92658.
