Marian Jones Shows “Shoreline Vision” at Library
Newport Beach, CA (September 1, 2010) - The Newport Beach City Arts Commission presents a photographic exhibition titled “Shoreline Vision” by local artist Marian Jones at the Newport Beach Central Library, 1000 Avocado Avenue.
A resident of Corona del Mar for 26 years, Marian Jones moved here in 1981 with her husband, renowned animation director Chuck Jones. Retiring from a twenty-two year career as a writer/journalist in Hollywood, in recent years she has pursued a long time passion – photography.
Marian works in both color and black and white. Her new series of photographs, “A Shoreline Vision,” focuses on forms and designs found in nature, often revealed in close-up. “Of all places, the seashore holds the greatest fascination for me,” she says. “It changes with every tide and yet is the most ancient and abiding source of life.”
For more information about the exhibit, please contact the City of Newport Beach Cultural Arts office at 949-717-3870 or visit the website at www.newportbeachca.gov/culturalarts.
