The City Arts Commission will present another series of “Concerts on the Green” during the summer of 2015. Dates and bands are listed below. Concerts on the Green will be "on the Green" at the Newport Beach Civic Center, 100 Civic Center Drive, Newport Beach. Concerts begin at 6 p.m. and end promptly at 7:30 p.m. and are free to the public. Come early with a picnic dinner and don’t forget to bring your blankets and beach chairs!
Concert on the Green: Stone Soul
Sunday, June 7, 6-7:30 p.m., Newport Beach Civic Center Green
Stone Soul throws down Classic Soul and Motown with spot-on renditions of timeless hits from James Brown, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, B.B. King, Marvin Gaye and more
Concert on the Green: Sligo Rags – Celtic Bluegrass Fusion
Sunday, July 12, 6-7:30 p.m., Newport Beach Civic Center Green
Named among the top acoustic bands in LA (by Folkworks Magazine) and two-time winners of the Orange County Music Award for Best Folk Band, this dynamic ensemble presents Celtic Folk with a decidedly bluegrass attitude.
Concert on the Green: Kelly Rae Band
Sunday, August 23, 6-7:30 p.m., Newport Beach Civic Center Green
Put on your cowboy hat and boots and come on down to the Civic Center for a summer evening of down-home country fun with The Kelly Rae Band, a premiere country band specializing in current chart-topping country tunes, as well as classic country favorites.
Concert on the Green: Britain's Finest – Beatles Tribute Band
Sunday, September 27, 6-7:30 p.m., Newport Beach Civic Center Green
Experience the Beatles as if the were live in concert with tribute renditions by Britain’s Finest. Spend a memorable evening on the Civic Center Green listening to those oh-so-familiar Beatles’ classics.
