Friday Forum on John Wayne Airport Issues (#3)

Subject: Access and Noise 101

Forum #3 will be a forum co-hosted by 2nd District Supervisor Michelle Steel of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. The County is the owner and operator of John Wayne Airport (JWA). This will be the first of three forums bringing the County’s perspective to the community. This specific session will have us learn more about the basics of the JWA Access and Noise Office – including how the 1985 Settlement Agreement (which prescribes the noise monitoring system and more), the General Aviation Noise Ordinance (which contains the curfew), and other noise-based regulations are monitored and adhered to by the Access and Noise Office staff.

The next two forums are tentatively scheduled for Friday, February 9, 2018 and Friday, March 9, 2018 and are planned to get more in depth into some of the regulatory documents associated with John Wayne Airport (such as the Access Plan).
