September is National Preparedness Month

Disasters Happen: Prepare Now, Learn How

National Preparedness Month 2018, Disasters Happen-Prepare Now, Learn How

In support of National Preparedness Month, the City of Newport Beach encourages all residents to join us as "Partners in Preparedness" to prepare yourself, your family and your neighborhood for any unexpected disaster. This year's theme for National Preparedness Month is "Disasters Happen: Prepare Now, Learn How."

To assist community members in developing a family emergency plan, building a disaster preparedness kit, and getting yourself prepared, the City is events and accepting applications for the Fire Department's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program classes that start at the end of September.

The Earthquake Awareness Workshop and the 10th annual Disaster Preparedness Expos are free to attend (and to park) and are open to all community members.
