Disasters Happen: Prepare Now, Learn How
In support of National Preparedness Month, the City of Newport Beach encourages all residents to join us as "Partners in Preparedness" to prepare yourself, your family and your neighborhood for any unexpected disaster. This year's theme for National Preparedness Month is "Disasters Happen: Prepare Now, Learn How."
To assist community members in developing a family emergency plan, building a disaster preparedness kit, and getting yourself prepared, the City is events and accepting applications for the Fire Department's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program classes that start at the end of September.
- 10th Annual Disaster Preparedness Expo - Saturday, September 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Newport Beach Civic Center Green
- Fall 2018 Fire Department Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program classes
The Earthquake Awareness Workshop and the 10th annual Disaster Preparedness Expos are free to attend (and to park) and are open to all community members.
