Serve on the 2019-2020 OC Grand Jury

The Superior Court of California, County of Orange is seeking citizens to serve on the 2019 - 2020 Orange County Grand Jury.

The Orange County Grand Jury is composed of nineteen individuals who take an oath of office to ensure that the performance of county, city and other local agencies is proper and ethical. They serve as the County's "watchdogs" by responding to citizen complaints, issuing indictments for serious crimes, evaluating the conditions of our county's jails and making sure our tax dollars are being wisely spent.

This is a full-time position as a civil watchdog, investigating local government agencies. The Grand Jury participates in some investigation hearing and criminal indictments. They do not participate in jury trials. Grand Jury proceedings are closed to the public. Qualifications for the position include: Orange County residency, United States citizenship, knowledge of English, sound judgement and being of age 18 or older. Compensation includes $50 per day stipend, plus mileage.
