Office Sought: Member of the City Council - District 6
Occupation: Newport Beach Councilmember/Architect
I was elected in 2014 to cut spending and to preserve Newport Beach’s quality of life.
I have worked for four years to clean up the financial excesses of prior city councils.
I am a strong supporter of the proposed charter amendment giving you the right to vote on debt for large city projects.
As a councilman I have used my background as a licensed architect, former Planning Commissioner, and businessman to tackle our growth and traffic issues, and protect your private property rights.
Since my election we have paid down our pension debt, incurred by the previous city council, by nearly $80,000,000, using surplus budget funds while maintaining our high-quality public services.
As an Eagle Scout and father of an Eagle Scout, I led the charge to repeal the wood burning beach fire ban passed by the prior city council.
I believe government's role should be to keep us safe, be invisible until you need it, and then provide services as efficiently as possible.
