April 15, 2019, Q&A Posted for RFP# 19-69

April 3, 2019, Steering Committee Meeting 

On Wednesday, April 3, 2019, the General Plan Update Steering Committee was given presentations from staff on a few topics of interest. Senior Planner Jaime Murillo gave the Committee and attendees an overview of the General Plan Housing Element, as well as the upcoming Regional Housing Needs Assessment (RHNA). City Traffic Engineer Tony Brine touched on the Circulation Element and provided the basics on the City’s traffic model. Lastly, Deputy Community Development Director Jim Campbell led a discussion on some of the current General Plan mandates from the State. 

March 25, 2019, Request for Proposals (RFP) # 19-69 Posted 

With the guidance of the Steering Committee and the community, the request for proposals (RFP) was drafted and finalized. It has been posted online to PlanetBids. March 20, 2019, Steering Committee Meeting 

On Wednesday, March 20, 2019, the General Plan Update Steering Committee met to review the revised draft request for proposals (RFP) and, with few changes, directed staff to finalize and publish the RFP. The Committee was also given a presentation on the Harbor Commission's recent visioning workshops by Commissioner Paul Blank, as well as a presentation on current General Plan online resources.

March 6, 2019, Steering Committee Meeting 

On March 6, 2019, the General Plan Update Steering Committee held its third meeting in the Central Library Friends Room. The Committee, as well as members of the public who attended, worked to refine the draft request for proposals (RFP) for consulting services for community engagement related to the General Plan Update.

February 20, 2019, Steering Committee Meeting 

The newly created General Plan Update Steering Committee held its first meeting on February 20, 2019, in the Civic Center Community Room. The Committee reviewed and discussed a draft request for proposals (RFP) for consulting services. 

February 13, 2019, Community Meeting

Thanks to all who attended the first community meeting at Marina Park on February 13, 2019!

The purpose of the meeting was to provide an opportunity to introduce the General Plan Update and to get some initial feedback on the anticipated process. Also discussed was how to stay informed and participate.
