The Planning
Director approved the applicants request to upgrade an existing wireless telecommunications
facility. The facility was
administratively approved on June 7, 2000, prior to the enaction of the city’s
Wireless Telecommunication Facilities Ordinance. The current facility consists of two panel antennas incorporated into
the design of an architectural tower element, with support equipment cabinets
located on the roof, adjacent to the tower. The facility upgrade includes the
addition of 4 panel antennas and the replacement of the existing support
equipment cabinet. The new antennas will be fully screened from view inside the
tower, and the replacement cabinet will be painted and textured to match the
existing building. The property is located in the RSC (Retail, Service
Commercial) District.

Administrator approved the Comprehensive Sign Program for an existing commercial building
in accordance with the provisions of Section 20.67.030 (Sign Code) of the
Newport Beach Municipal Code. The building is occupied by multiple commercial
tenants and the sign program is for identification wall signs from

APPEAL: For Item 1, the
applicant may appeal any denial of the application or any conditions of
approval to the City Council within 14 days of the date of written notification
of action by the Planning Director. The City Council’s action on appeals
shall be final. Any appeal filed shall be accompanied by a filing fee of $340.00. For Item 2,
the decision of the Zoning Administrator may be appealed by the applicant or
any interested party to the Planning Commission within 14 days of the
decision date. Any appeal filed shall be accompanied by a filing fee of $600.00. |
