SUBJECT:      Report of actions taken by Planning Department Staff for the week ending November 30, 2007

Item 1:             Cingular/AT&T Mobility – Telecom Permit No. TP2007-013 (PA2007-206)

798 Dover Drive

The Planning Director approved the applicants request to allow minor modifications to an existing co-located wireless telecommunications facility (“telecom facility”) located at the Newport Harbor Church and school at 798 Dover Drive. The existing telecom facility was administratively approved on March 9, 2002, prior to the City’s Wireless Telecommunication Facilities Ordinance. The facility currently consists of a stealth antenna located within the cross on the roof of the church building and ground-mounted equipment for two separate carriers located at the rear of the church. The applicant’s equipment currently consists of 2 radio equipment cabinets screened from view by an 8-foot-high stucco covered block wall. The project involves relocating the existing block wall easterly by 1 foot 4 inches to accommodate the pouring of a new concrete pad and allow for the reorientation of the 2 existing radio equipment cabinets and the addition of 1 new radio equipment cabinet. The equipment will remain screened from view behind the relocated block wall. No changes or additions to the existing antenna within the cross are proposed. The property is located in the PC (Newport Harbor Lutheran Church Planned Community) District.
