Newport Beach Tourism Business Improvement District
The Newport Beach Tourism Business Improvement District (NBTBID) was formed by the City of Newport Beach on April 28, 2009, pursuant to the Property and Business Improvement District Law of 1994, Streets and Highways Code Sections 36600 et seq. to help fund marketing and sales promotion efforts for Newport Beach tourism businesses. The NBTBID was renewed by the Newport Beach City Council for a 10-year term on January 28, 2014. The current term will expire on January 31, 2024.
The NBTBID was formed at the request of the original member lodging businesses to provide marketing and sales promotions to increase tourism and to market Newport Beach as a tourist, meeting and event destination. These services are designed to benefit NBTBID members - those hotels and resorts that are assessed within the city.
In June 2018, the Management District Plan was amended to increase the major hotels in Newport Beach that belong to the NBTBID:
- Balboa Bay Club and Resort
- Fairmont Newport Beach
- Hyatt Regency Newport Beach
- Island Hotel Newport Beach
- Lido House Hotel
- Newport Beach Marriott Bayview
- VEA Newport Beach, A Marriott Resort & Spa (formerly known as Newport Beach Marriott Hotel & Spa)
- Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina
- Radisson Newport Beach
Assessment information, programs, and the NBTBID’s yearly budget are contained within the Annual Report.
