Marine Activities Permit
The City of Newport Beach requires that all persons, who wish to open a business or provide a commercial service of any kind in Newport Harbor, must first obtain a Marine Activities Permit (“MAP”). Commercial activities have the potential to interfere with navigation in the Harbor, impact parking, create excessive noise especially during the evening, and cause environmental damage from the discharge of waste and trash into the Harbor. Marine Activities Permits ensure that businesses operating in Newport Harbor do not adversely affect the health, safety, and welfare of those who use, enjoy, and live near Newport Harbor (including our ocean friends).
