NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY

City of Newport Beach – Public Trust Lands
Sea Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment (PA2017-225)

Assembly Bill 691 (AB 691) requires trustees of Public Trust Lands to prepare and submit to the California State Lands Commission (CSLC), an assessment of sea level rise (SLR) adaption strategies, including potential impacts to existing structures and future development. AB 691 requires the City of Newport Beach (City) to submit this assessment to the CSLC by July 1, 2019.

In compliance with AB 691, the City prepared a study titled Public Trust Lands Sea Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment (Assessment). The Assessment evaluates the vulnerability of the City’s Public Trust Lands to SLR and associated coastal hazards. This report is based on the best available science and includes SLR projections released by the Ocean Protection Council (OPC) report State of California Sea Level Rise Guidance.

The Assessment is available here. The City invites you to review the Assessment. If you have any comments, please submit them to the contact below by May 22, 2019.

For questions or comments on the Assessment, please contact Patrick Alford, Planning Manager, at 949-644-3235, palford@newportbeachca.gov.
