On September 23, 2008, a public hearing was held for the formation of the district. The ballot tabulation of the votes submitted were 57% in favor of the district formation. As a result, the City Council approved the district formation and Southern California Edison, AT&T, and Time Warner Cable awarded its construction contract to Arizona Pipeline.
Construction Information
- Working hours limited to 7:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (subject to change for traffic/construction conditions)
- Monday - Friday
- Estimated start of construction in December 2008
- Estimated completion of construction in July 2010
- Alley closures are required
- Access to garages may be restricted during working hours, but access provided at the end of each work day
- Traffic may be impacted during working hours
- Exercise caution when near construction zone
- Construction notices to be distributed ten days and again 48-hours prior to starting work in each area
- Notices will be provided by the City when property owners can perform private utility conversion
"Temporary No-Parking" signs may be posted in the area of construction. During the posted dates / times, any vehicle parked in the area will be towed at the owner's expense. To allow the construction to proceed expeditiously, intermittent street closures may be necessary. Please observe the parking restrictions and other traffic control measures in place, they are for your safety.
