Website Accessibility Statement
The City of Newport Beach is committed to providing digital services that are accessible to all members of the public, including individuals with disabilities.
The City strives to ensure that its website and digital services are accessible in accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which serve as the current standard for digital accessibility.
We welcome your feedback and suggestions to help us improve the accessibility of our website. If you have difficulty accessing information or services on our website, please contact us using the information at the bottom of this page.
What are we doing with accessibility?
To help make the City’s website accessible and user friendly for everyone, the City works to design, develop, and maintain digital content in alignment with WCAG 2.1 Level AA from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines are intended to provide a globally recognized, technology-neutral standard for web accessibility and explain how to make digital content more accessible for people with disabilities.
Our efforts include ongoing staff training, periodic accessibility reviews, and updates to website content and functionality as needed.
Non-conforming content
The City recognizes that accessibility is an ongoing effort. If we become aware of content that may not fully conform to current accessibility standards, we will work to improve the content, provide alternative access, or otherwise address the issue as appropriate.
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please notify us using the contact information at the bottom of this page.
How are we doing with accessibility?
The City website includes accessibility features intended to improve usability, such as options for adjusting text size, contrast, and navigation. These tools are intended to support a range of user needs, but they may not address all accessibility barriers.
Employees designated as website content editors receive training on accessibility standards and best practices. The City also monitors its website and digital services on an ongoing basis and will continue to make improvements as technology, standards, and user needs evolve.
Upon request using the contact information at the bottom of this page, the City will make reasonable efforts to provide information or services in an alternative format or through another method.
Third-Party Content and Tools
The City’s website may include links to or integrations with third-party websites, applications, or services. While the City strives to work with vendors that support accessibility, the City cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party content or platforms.
If you experience difficulty accessing content provided by a third-party service, please contact us so we can assist you or provide the information through an alternative method where possible.
Where can you get additional accessibility assistance?
Most modern browsers and assistive technologies include built-in accessibility tools and features. Users may also benefit from browser settings, screen readers, magnification tools, and other assistive technology that help improve access to digital content.
