Mayor Lauren Kleiman (2026)
Mayor Lauren Kleiman was elected to the City Council in 2022, Mayor Pro Tem in 2025 and Mayor in 2026 with a commitment to Public Safety and the goal of preserving the quality of life in Newport Beach.
Mayor Kleiman is the Vice Chair of the Newport Beach Aviation Committee, the City’s delegate on the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), the Vice Chair for the Orange County Council of Governments (OCCOG), and holds a seat on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA).
Mayor Kleiman has a long history of service to the community, beginning as a member of the Aviation Committee before being appointed to the City’s Planning Commission, where she served for six years.
As a Founding Board Member of the Newport Beach Foundation, Mayor Pro Tem Kleiman started a Parent Education Series to help families navigate through the difficult issues they are faced with today, and furthered the organization’s mission to ignite the next generation of leadership in the City, through their high school scholarship and Distinguished Citizen programs.
Mayor Kleiman received her Juris Doctor degree and Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine School of Law. She is an attorney and businesswoman who is passionate about giving her time to better the community.
Mayor Kleiman and her husband, Marc, feel so fortunate to be raising their son in Corona del Mar.
